Data from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism and Embratur indicate that 2024 was the best in history for the country’s international tourism.
It reached the record of almost 6.6 million foreign visitors, 12.6% more than a year before, highlighted this Monday the Brazilian ambassador to Spain, Orlando Leite Ribeiro, at the presentation of Fitur. The president of the Executive Committee of the Madrid Fair Institute (Ifema), José Vicente de los Mozos, highlighted that it is the fair in the world that brings together the most professionals.
He announced that, given the growth of Fitur year after year, the next edition could expand the space it occupies from the current nine pavilions to ten at the fairgrounds in the capital of Spain. This large flow of participants and attendees is estimated to have an economic impact on Madrid of 445 million euros of income (454 million dollars), with a positive effect on sectors such as mobility, hospitality, culture and leisure.
