At the beginning of Fitur, the Dominican Republic announced a series of tourism projects that will be developed in the country, including Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, which partnered with Grupo Puntacana for a new resort, scheduled to launch in 2029.
Located on 50 acres of prime land, including 400 meters, Rosewood Punta Cana will offer 78 spacious suites, including several luxurious overwater villas.
The resort will be just ten minutes from Punta Cana Airport, which receives direct flights from the United States, Latin and South America, Canada and Europe.

The Punta Bergantín tourism project, in Puerto Plata, one of the most anticipated by the industry due to the Government’s ambitious commitment to the recovery of the Costa Dorada, released the investment announcements of the day. New agreements were signed for tourism projects in the area, including the construction of a third hotel and a theme park.
The hotel investment will be carried out by the Velutini Group and the Excel Group, while the recreational park will be developed with the collaboration of an operator. These initiatives are added to the two hotel projects confirmed last year.
The information was announced by the president of Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra, during an executive meeting in which he highlighted the potential of Puerto Plata.
With the aim of continuing to diversify the country’s offer, the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), represented by its executive director, Jean Luis Rodríguez, and the president of the Board of Directors, Francisco Campos, highlighted the role of maritime transport.

One of the relevant announcements at the beginning of Fitur 2025 was that of three leading brands in the sector: Grupo Puntacana, Mac Hotels and Marriott International, which announced the opening details of reservations for the W Punta Cana hotel, part of the portfolio of more than 30 Marriott Bonvoy brands. The hotel will have 340 rooms, 11 of which will be villas. The complex will open its doors as the first W Hotels property in the country and the brand’s first all-inclusive in the world, located in Uvero Alto. Its modern and bold design is aimed exclusively at adults, and includes rooms with balconies, private pools and direct access to the pools (swim-ups). It will have a 2,000 m² spa with 10 treatment rooms, 6 themed restaurants, a rooftop with views of the sea, the mountains and the cocoa fields; commercial area, two swimming pools with integrated bars and a total of 13 bar and restaurant options.
