By resolution of the Ministry of the Environment, Paraguay will begin the fishing ban on November 1 in rivers shared with Argentina and Brazil. It will be until mid-December in the first case and until the end of January for the second.
The prohibition to carry out the modalities of sport and commercial fishing; as well as the use of fishing gear, transport and marketing of fishery products This is what is established by resolution 713/2022 of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES).
The measurement starts this Tuesday, November 1, until December 15 with Argentina and until January 31, 2023 with Brazil. The rivers covered are the Apa, the Paraná, the Paraguay and the Pilcomayo. The dates were defined based on biological, social and environmental interests.

However, the products extracted in a timely manner (before the start of the ban) may continue to be marketed once the period begins.
Within this period, controls and inspections are planned on routes, businesses, transport and rivers, in order to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Among 3,001 to 10,000 minimum wages vary the fines for not complying with the ban, apart from the criminal responsibilities of Law 716/96, which sanctions crimes against the environment.
