The afternoon of Friday, June 10, Norberto Surubí Díez was in a river in the Florida community, zone of the Municipal Protected Area of Bajo Paraguá de San Ignacio de Velasco. He was accompanied by a friend, with whom they had rented a canoe to explore the waters of the river and, incidentally, fish.
After midnight, the couple of friends decided to return to the communitywhen a sudden movement of the canoe caused it to capsize and both fell into the water.
According to the journalist Darío Morón, Norberto Surubí Díez was the one who had the worst time, since the water swallowed him and he could not save himself.
“That was around 1 in the morning, an hour later the residents of the community went to help the two, but they could only find one,” explains Morón.
This is how an incessant search for the drowned man began, by aid patrols from the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco. A rescue team from the Government also arrived in the area.
Almost 16 hours after the accident, rescuers and villagers found the body and they took it out of the bottom, at approximately 5 in the afternoon this Saturday, June 11.
The body found was taken to the community
