The Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice began to yield results. The security cabinet reported that in Buenavista, Cotija and Huetamo, the Secretariat of National Defense and the National Guard (GN) detained five people and seized 330 kilograms of synthetic drugs, weapons, vehicles and tactical equipment.
The operations were carried out over the weekend, in parallel with the presentation of the state plan, and are in addition to other blows to drug trafficking in different entities.
In Buenavista, agents seized five long weapons, 18 magazines, 1,250 cartridges and tactical equipment. In turn, in the municipality of Cotija, a vehicle was located in an apparent state of abandonment that contained a rifle, 20 magazines, 1,790 cartridges and 52 kilograms of explosive material.
In the municipality of Huetamo, the troops carrying out ground tours seized six vehicles, three motorcycles, three machine guns, 11 long firearms, a grenade launcher, three grenades, 91 magazines, 1,878 cartridges, 330 kilograms of methamphetamines and tactical equipment.
It is estimated that the cost of the insured drugs is 89.2 million pesos.
The detainees were informed of their legal rights and together with what was secured they were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal situation.
They carry out searches throughout the country
In Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, they searched a property where they detained two people, seized five short weapons, 14 magazines, 910 cartridges and a vehicle.
In Jalisco, elements of the Mexican Army and National Guard (GN) seized 13 luxury vehicles, one of them with armor and an address related to illegal acts.
In Higueras and Cerralvo, Nuevo León, elements of the GN, the Defense and the state police of Tamaulipas seized four vehicles with handmade armor, 24 magazines and 130 cartridges.
Separately, in Badiraguato, Sinaloa, in the town of El Encinal, elements of the Army seized 700 kilograms of marijuana. The economic impact on organized crime is estimated at 2.3 million pesos.
Likewise, in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, elements of the National Guard and Mexican Army, when carrying out a security inspection of a tractor-trailer destined for Tijuana, detained two people and seized 70 liters of a precursor for the production of methamphetamine. The blow to organized crime is one million pesos.
Finally, in that same municipality, elements of the Ministry of the Navy, Defense, National Guard, Prosecutor’s Office and state police searched a property and seized 481 kilograms of methamphetamine. The cost of the insured drug is 130 million pesos.
