A 31-year-old pregnant woman who suffered a premature abruption of the placenta died on last Saturday at the El Carmen hospital of Huancayo, after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest, informed the director of the hospital, Luis Orihuela. According to her relatives, they evacuated her from Tarma to Huancayo, hoping that the Huancayo doctors would save the life of the patient with five months of gestation and her unborn child, but she only found death .

“The pregnant woman was evacuated from Tarma, with a premature abruption of the placenta, the doctors have made the possible management but her situation was complicated because she suffered abrupt abruption of the placenta and generated internal bleeding, she had to be transfused with globular packages of blood to stabilize it”, explained Luis Orihuela.
He noted that a medical board decided that she should undergo a cesarean section and when she was in the operating room, being assisted by the anesthesiologist, she had a cardiorespiratory arrest before surgery and died at around 7 in the morning.
After the death, the Prosecutor’s Office and the Public Ministry were notified for her transfer to the judicial morgue to proceed with the necropsy of law that was carried out yesterday, after which the remains of the pregnant woman were transferred to her native Tarma, so that the relatives give him a Christian burial.
Director Luis Orihuela commented that she was not operated on as soon as she arrived, because she was unbalanced and needed to be stabilized beforehand. A medical board was scheduled for today, which will be in charge of evaluating the case, that is, if the protocols and other issues were complied with.

He mentioned that this was the first maternal death recorded this year at the El Carmen hospital, where some 30 deaths were avoided, after the pregnant women presented complications during pregnancy. Finally, she urged pregnant women to follow pregnancy control during the 9 months of pregnancy, since if complications arise they can be treated in time.
