First Entrepreneurial Reactive Contest 2022 awarded 15 resilient women

Since 2021, the Resilient Women project, executed by CARE Peru and the Scotiabank group, aims to reactivate women-led enterprises through various activities, among which we can highlight the . This was organized for the first time in order to promote 15 enterprises led by women who participate in the project. Initially, more than 80 entrepreneurs applied, of which 30 were pre-selected, each one being trained for 12 hours on how to prepare their business plan.

“For me it was a great opportunity to be able to improve my business according to the business plan that I have presented. I have learned a lot with the workshops such as the ‘5 eses’ and the technical sheet, and I am currently putting them into practice”, says Luzmila Bringas from the LBS Confecciones enterprise located in Trujillo, La Libertad.

In addition, each entrepreneurial woman who applied for the contest was able to share this experience with others, taking with her learning and new experiences. In this way, competitiveness is promoted and, at the same time, sisterhood among women entrepreneurs with the aim of strengthening supply chains and promoting a sustainable economic reactivation in the regions of intervention of the project.

“In addition to the training, I had internal consultancies and met women entrepreneurs like me with whom I shared experiences and ideas and was able to learn a lot from them. I feel very happy to have won this contest, it is one more step to continue fulfilling my dreams”, mentions Aleida González from the Pasión Afrodisiaca enterprise located in Trujillo, La Libertad.

Each participant had the opportunity to make an impact statement in front of a jury of business experts and representatives of public and private organizations such as: Regional Government of Lima, Regional Government of La Libertad, PRODUCE of Arequipa, Scotiabank Peru, CARE Peru , Dream Builder and the Antenor Orrego Private University. After the final results, the 15 winners were announced in a virtual event.

The finalists and winners will receive production assets valued at up to S/10,000 to boost their businesses and, consequently, improve their quality of life, as well as that of their families, collaborators, suppliers and more women like them.

“With this award we will be able to generate work and impact the economy of more agroecological producers, as well as in my Sumaq Vivero collective that seeks to empower more women so that in the future they can also develop their own enterprises,” adds Dany Ancco from the Sumaq Moringa enterprise. located in Pachacamac, Lima.
