The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (feda) and the Paraíso City Council inaugurated this Friday the first ecotourism fair called Festival del Paraíso, with the presence of the main local authorities and the participation of the community. The fair will last until January 22.
Hecmilio Galván, executive director of the fedahighlighted the works carried out by the president Luis Abinader to enhance the ecotourism and agricultural importance of this area in the south of the country, while guaranteeing the determined support of the government to the productive sectors of this area.
The mayor of ParadiseFrancisco Acosta Saldana, known as panchinWhen welcoming, he said that “when I was little, I dreamed of seeing the moment when agricultural products would not be lost lying in the streets because there were not even neighboring roads, but now with the support of the feda it can be said that the moment of Paradise has arrived”.
The feda currently builds a nursery and a collection center de cacao, which he attended to give the first picazo in the framework of the Festival del Paraiso.
“Not only will there be coffee, avocado, chestnuts and other fruit trees in Paraíso, there will be cocoa for a long time. Paradiseto Barahona and for the entire South of the Dominican Republic,” said the official on behalf of President Luis Abinader.
Besides the feda delivered two thousand coconut seedlings of the thousands that will be delivered throughout the country and tools were delivered to the farmers so that they improve agricultural tasks on their farms, such as machetes, coas, picks, shovels and weeders.
The provincial governor of Barahona, Maribel Gonzalezsaid that “in our country, in the Southwest, Paraíso is admired and recognized for its exuberant, green and mountainous mountainous landscape”.

The young farmer David Acosta, from the Organizing Committee of the paradise festivalaffirmed that “for me to say that I am from Paraíso, I had to say that I lived between San Rafael and The Ducksand it’s good that both places are part of Paraíso”.
He gave the example of the municipality of Polo, which was a municipality with a bad reputation for its attention to its visitors and after the festicafethe mentality of the population and the economic dynamism de Polo has given a 180 degree turn in the quality of service to its visitors and in investments, and that is precisely what we hope will happen in Paraíso.
