First baby of 2023 is a boy and is in perfect health

Santo Domingo Norte.- He was born at 12:00 am this Sunday the first baby of the year 2023, who came into the world in perfect health via vaginal delivery.

This is Carlos Yoniel Pérez Ramírez, born in the Maternity Hospital Dr. Reynaldo Almánzar (HMRA) with a weight of 8 lbs.

Her parents Nicaira Ramírez Mateo, 21, and Carlos Pérez, both residents of the La Victoria municipal district, thanked the medical team that performed the delivery, and also highlighted the humane and quality treatment they provide at the health center.

The mother’s labor began at 7:00 p.m. on December 31, 2022, and was under the responsibility of obstetricians Maruveny Paredes, Isabel Alvarado, and together with the nursing staff on duty and the support of the doctor. Eddy Ferreras, coordinator of emergencies.

HMRA Director Dr Freddy Novas congratulated the parents of the first baby of the New Year and urged the mother to breastfeed the newborn for up to six months to make it a strong and healthy child.

“Breastfeeding is essential for the development and proper growth of boys and girls, in the first 6 months it provides all the nutrients that the baby needs,” explained Dr. Novas.

The doctor reported that for this year it is planned to continue offering services of the highest quality, and humane treatment to the users of the maternity hospital, with the support of the medical and administrative staff he directs.
