The National Directorate of Firefighters reported that during the morning of this Thursday a fire broke out in one of the final waste disposal sites located on Camino Felipe Cardoso, in Montevideo. Before the fact “three crews of firefighters and a tank car” worked on it.
“At times a column of smoke was generated, which can be seen from different points of the city,” they add from the Fire Department, explaining that “the spread to precarious housing has already been prevented.”
So far no injuries have been reported.
The Felipe Cardoso area has been in the news in recent weeks due to the discovery of three bodies during the month of August.
