According to the Emergency Management Center (CGE) of the capital of São Paulo, the forecast for showers with lightning and gusts of wind for the late afternoon and early evening today. The agency warns that, due to the rains of recent days, the soil in the Greater São Paulo region is already soaked, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides.

A survey released yesterday by the Civil Defense of the state of São Paulo reported that 24 people had died because of the rains since the beginning of December. The storms also led to 15 municipalities in the state declaring a state of emergency.
