He Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources reported that several forest fire brigades are working to put out the fires registered in the provinces of Bahoruco and Barahora.
Two of the accidents are close to the Bahoruco river and La Ciénaga, while there is a third also in the Ciénaga, specifically in the Coronel Bridge and the last one in the Chir Alto de Saladillo river and Santa Elena crossing.
The governing entity said that it has stationed more than 35 brigade members, one in La Vega and another made up of park rangers from the Barahora province.

Also, Ministry authorities indicated that a team from the National Environmental Protection Service (Senpa) moved close to the Santa Elena crossing, in Barahona, to verify the causes that originated another fire that is observed from the headquarters of this brigade.
According to the survey carried out by members of the Senpa, several portions of land burned several days ago, and other fires that apparently originated intentionally, with the purpose of carrying out conuquismo or solar work.
