Some 20 firefighters managed to control the fire that broke out this afternoon on a beach with buses, on the border between the Buenos Aires districts of Berazategui and Florencio Varela, reported sources from the Volunteer Firefighters of the latter municipality.
“About 20 fire brigades continue to work at the site,” the sources reported.
“The fire did not reach the bin, but it was close. They are working to prevent the flames from reaching the place,” they said.
Earlier, the sources had indicated that the fire, which consumed the depot of Line 129 of Misión Buenos Aires buses, formerly Grupo Plaza and Río de La Plata, had reached the Sein y Cía paper mill. SA, adjacent to the site and located on Vergara and Touring Club streets, 10 kilometers from the center of Florencio Varela.
Sources from the Berazategui Volunteer Fire Department reported that teams from Hudson, Berazategui, Gutiérrez, Magdalena, Ensenada, Berisso, Quilmes, Bernal, San Francisco Solano, and Florencio Varela are working.
In addition, others will be added to support the towns of Almirante Brown and Lomas de Zamora, Ezeiza and Monte Grande.
“In the place there are buses without use and, apparently, the fire was intentional because they were throwing Molotov cocktails, according to the radio of the municipal monitoring center”They said, noting that “there are no injuries or evacuees.”
According to sources from the Florencio Varela Volunteer Firefighters, “the entire terminal is on fire. The magnitude of the fire is great and it reached the trash can.”
The entrance to the deposit is located on the Camino General Belgrano and Santa Sofía, on the border between the municipalities of Florencio Varela and Berazategui.
The company has bus routes that operate throughout Buenos Aires, including Quilmes, La Matanza, Avellaneda, Distrito Federal, Lomas De Zamora, Berazategui, Ensenada, Florencio Varela.
