On the morning of this Tuesday, May 23, two fires were registered in apartments in different parts of the city, in Vía Argentina and Curundú, both incidents were controlled by the Panama Fire Department.
Lieutenant Colonel Angel Delgado reported that at 6:23 a.m. there was a fire in a fourth-floor apartment in the Ratán building that was attended to by the Carrasquilla and Calidonia stations, being controlled in minutes, inside the apartment were two ladies from 28 and 29 years old who were rescued by firefighters, suffered no injuries and were treated by emergency personnel for evaluation.
While at 6:04 am another fire broke out in one of the apartments in Curundú, where people managed to evacuate on time, and it was also successfully extinguished.
In both cases, the Fire Department began investigations to find out what caused the fires.
