The Minister for Ecosocialism, Freddy Ñáñez, reported on his networks the total extinction of the fire reported this Tuesday in the Henri Pittier National Park.
The incident occurred at 7:00 pm in the El Paseo–UCV sector of the El Limón parish, within the Mario Briceño Iragorry municipality, in the state of Aragua.
Thanks to the timely intervention of emergency teams, the flames were quelled before they spread to critical areas of the natural reservoir.
Officials from the Inparques forest firefighters, park rangers and university firefighters participated in the operation, along with members of the Civil Protection and the Bolivarian National Police.
Community forestry brigades from Valle Verde and El Limón joined this effort, consolidating a unitary work that allowed the control tasks to be concluded at 11:35 pm. According to the official balance, the fire affected 27.06 hectares of low vegetation.
Currently, the investigation phase remains open to determine the causes of the incident through the corresponding technical protocols.
In this regard, Minister Ñáñez recognized the professionalism and dedication to service of the fire department and the volunteers involved.
Likewise, he recalled that the preservation of the Henri Pittier is vital for the regional climate balance, which is why he urged citizens to maintain conscious care of the forests during the current drought season.
