The presidential delegate in the Valparaíso Region, Sofía González, indicated that the fire that affected Viña del Mar, although “it still has hot spots, has a very low probability of continuing to spread.”
In addition, the head of the regional delegation added that through an overflight carried out by Conaf and the Navy, about 314 damaged roofs have been identified, while the team of officials from the Ministry of Social Development has carried out, until this morning, the raising of 240 basic emergency information sheets (FIBE), which will allow aid to be channeled in a coordinated manner.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Fernando Araos, took stock of the health care provided after the fire in Viña del Mar.
“A total of 99 people have been treated, of which 31 were in Primary Health Care, 8 were assisted by SAMU in the field and 44 in the Gustavo Fricke Hospital, leaving one person hospitalized for burns on his body, who is out of vital risk,” he explained.
The undersecretary also reported that “a regional Emergency and Disaster mental health board has been set up, which has coordinated with the Valparaíso Health Seremi, as well as with the Viña del Mar Corporation to raise requirements from the local level.”
