A devastating fire destroyed at least five homes in the district of Manantay, Pucallpa, leaving several families affected in the midst of the tragedy.
The incident, which occurred in a matter of minutes, mainly affected wooden homes, which facilitated the rapid spread of the fire and caused great material losses.
The work of firefighters was seriously affected due to the narrow streets in the area, which made it difficult for emergency units to enter and delayed efforts to control the flames.
Faced with this situation, neighbors tried to collaborate with buckets and hoses to put out the fire, although their efforts were insufficient given the magnitude of the incident.
While the wooden homes were completely destroyed, some cement buildings managed to partially resist, mitigating the damage in certain points. However, the overall picture was devastating for the families who lost everything.
Local authorities and fire crews remain in the area working to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby homes.
