Fire in power station left Valles del Tuy without electricity

A fire recorded during the early hours of this Tuesday, at the Santa Teresa III power station, located in the Inavi-Lozada axis of Santa Teresa del Tuy, left several municipalities in the Valles del Tuy subregion, Miranda state, without power service.

The incident, whose causes are still under investigation, occurred at 3:04 am and immediately affected the electricity supply in large sectors of Santa Teresa, Ocumare del Tuy, Cúa and surrounding areas.

Users reported the interruption of service after 3 am. The fire was controlled by firefighters, Civil Protection, Corpolec and the Mayor’s Office of the Independencia municipality.

Technical personnel from the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) and the Ministry of Electric Energy were deployed to the site to assess the damage and carry out the necessary repair work.

Until the closing of this edition, crews were still working to progressively restore electricity flow in the affected communities.
