Around 3:30 this morning, a fire started in the Cerro Navia commune, precisely on the corner of José Joaquín Prieto and Pedro Urriola. The flames burned a barrack and six commercial premises which did not leave people injured.
According to neighbors, prior to the fire, two roars were felt that gave way to the start of the fire. There were more than 100 Firefighters officials belonging to the bodies of various communes who managed to control the incident.
Low water pressure impaired the work of firefighters, who had to move away from the fire area in search of water resources. The incident left a long column of smoke that could be seen in different communes of Santiago.
