MADRID, Spain.- A fire that occurred this Monday in the municipality of Batabanó, in the province of Mayabeque, left three families homeless. Fortunately no loss of life was reported.
The event was initially disclosed on social networks and then by the Cuban News Agency (ACN) which confirmed: “There were damages, mainly, in three houses in a total way and many others in a partial way.”
As specified in Facebook the profile Communicator Cam Batabanó, the incident occurred on 73 avenue, between 64 and 66 streets.
In comments to the publication, dozens of users regretted the fact and expressed support for the families who lost their homes.
Internet user Lino González called a campaign to help Daylin Chávez, one of the people whose home was destroyed by fire.
“Come on Batabanó, we have a new mission. Let’s help our friend Daylin Chávez… at dawn today her house and that of her family suffered an accident where the flames devastated everything. She and her family need us,” González said.
So far the reason for the fire is unknown. According to ACN, investigations began to clarify its origin, “although it is presumed that it was due to short circuits.”
