A fire of large proportions affected this Sunday afternoon a plastics factory located in the Las Charcas sectorsouth of Santiago.
So far, authorities have not confirmed the causes of the accidentalthough unofficial versions circulate that point to a possible garbage burning in the vicinity.
He General Alexis Moscatdirector of Fire brigade of Santiago, reported that several units immediately went to the scene and that, thanks to the support of private tankers, they have been able to control part of the fire.
“We are here with the firefighters of all stations Santiago and Tamboril. What we lack is the amount of water, but thank God private trucks are arriving to help us,” Moscat explained during the intervention.

“We are going to wait for the departments whose responsibility it is to do the work on the site. They will be the ones who determine how occurred all this,” added Moscat.
