SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- A fire of small proportions broke out early this Thursday at the Inejiro Asanuma spinning mill, in the municipality of Gibara, Holguín, according to Cuban officials on social networks.
The fire was caused by a short circuit in the factory’s fourth extractor fan, according to the information provided. on Facebook by Nayla Marieta Leyva Rodríguez, official of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Gibara.
The flames were controlled by members of the Corps of Firefightersvolunteer firefighters, members of the Red Cross, workers and managers of the industry.
“I am infinitely grateful and congratulate the men and women of the Fire Department of the Ministry of the Interior in Holguín, the members of the Red Cross and volunteer firefighters of Gibara for their accompaniment, collaboration and decisive support in extinguishing a small fire that we faced. in the fourth extractor of our Spinning Factory, caused by a short circuit in the early hours of today,” said the official.
Likewise, he noted that fortunately there were no injuries or major problems and the damage could be minimized.
However, the publications did not clarify what type of damage the fire caused or whether it affects the production of the state company, known as Gihilan Producciones, whose function is the manufacture of cotton yarn, floor blankets, among other products.
The news comes just four days after a fire broke out in the “La Francia Moderna” store, owned by the CIMEX SA Corporation, on the central Boulevard of the city of Cienfuegos.
According to a note published by the newspaper September 5th On his Facebook profile, he did not lament the loss of human life or injuries, although there were significant economic losses.
Everything indicates that the cause of the fire was caused by a short circuit in an air conditioning unit, although authorities continued investigating to clarify other details of the incident.
“The determined attitude of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring homes and causing greater losses,” the note stated.
