The Mexico City Metro, which transports nearly six million people every day, has given rise to several incidents, the most tragic being the collapse on Line 12 in May 2021.
On May 3, around 10:25 p.m., a train with passengers left the track and derailed from the elevated structure in which it was moving between the Tezonco and Olivos stations of Line 12 of the Metro, in the Tláhuac city hall, which left 26 deceased.
Added to this are other fires and crashes that have not had major consequences.
