The Presidential Bicentennial Commission held this Tuesday a Work meeting in which they reviewed the preparations for the anniversary of the Naval Battle of the Lake, which took place on July 24, 1823.
The meeting was led by the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, who stressed that they are working to celebrate the commemoration of the independence feat in a big way. In this regard, Rodríguez stressed that the cycle of this commemorative event is part of the union of Latin America.
This Commission was authorized by the president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, with the purpose of promoting a six-year agenda of activities, to exalt the memory and historical value of Venezuela.
The Minister of Culture, Ernesto Villegas; the historian Pedro Calzadilla; the head of Education, Yelitze Santaella; the Sectoral Vice President of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, G/J Vladimir Padrino López; the Sector Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos; the sectoral vice president for the Social and Territorial area, Mervin Maldonado; the sector vice president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñañez, among other authorities.
In 2019, the National Executive authorized the creation of this Presidential Commission with the purpose of evaluating the facts and historical events in the nation, as well as contributing to the deepening of their knowledge and appreciation in the Venezuelan population.
