“We have a very critical situation in Essalud, in the region. In human resources, in the care area we lack specialist doctors in different areas, such as in the departments of Surgery, medicine and diagnostic support”, said Paucar Calderón.
He added: “Not only in the medical area, but also in the area of technologists and nursing graduates, this is a national constant, but it seems to me that in Huancavelica it is quite critical and we have already taken measures in these three weeks.”
On the other hand, he also said that he found problems in the infrastructure of the hospital.
“The rains showed that the infrastructure of this hospital is not adequate, 25 years have passed since its inauguration and until now it has suffered the ravages of time, there are leaks, filtrations, humidity, in almost all areas of the hospital,” explained the doctor.

Likewise, he said that this problem also exists in the provinces, as is the case of the Lircay medical center, which is located in a house made of rustic material, with overcrowding and fails to meet the minimum requirements to serve the population.
Given this, he said that he was in talks with the provincial mayor to transfer the hospital to better facilities in the commune and they have.

Likewise, he reported that the personnel of the Peru Hospital have already begun to attend in Huancavelica, for which 10 doctors, as well as nurses, technologists and technicians, arrived in Tierra del Mercurio.
