Find out your polling place less than two weeks before the 2022 elections

Do you already know where to vote? Only two weeks left for the , where more than 24 million citizens have been summoned to the polls to elect the next authorities for the period 2023-2026. Therefore, it is important to know where your polling place is and, thus, avoid setbacks on the day of the day of October 2.

A total of 24,759,909 Peruvian voters and 153 foreign voters will elect the next regional governors and mayors for the next four years. It is important to go to vote, otherwise fines range from S/23 to S/92; while for not attending or refusing to hold the position of table member is S/230.

WHAT WILL BE THE SCHEDULE OF THE 2022 REGIONAL AND MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS?

The time to comply with the duty to vote is from 07:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the ONPE suggests voting in a staggered schedule in order to avoid crowds, because we are still in a pandemic. This is the proposal:

Voters in risk groups

If you are an older adult, pregnant woman or person with disabilities or at risk, it is recommended to go at the following times

  • From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

voters at large

If you do not belong to a risk group, it is recommended to go at the following times, according to the last digit of your ID:

  • 1, 2, 3 and 4: from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • 5,6, 7, 8, 9 and 0: from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHAT AUTHORITIES WILL BE ELECTED IN THE ELECTIONS OF OCTOBER 2?

In the Regional and Municipal Elections on October 2, 13,032 authorities will be elected in 25 regional governments, 196 provincial municipalities and 1,694 district municipalities in the country. This is the distribution:

392 regional authorities:

  • 25 regional governors.
  • 25 regional lieutenant governors.
  • 342 regional councillors.

1,910 provincial authorities:

  • 196 provincial mayors.
  • 1,714 provincial councillors.

10,730 district authorities:

  • 1,694 district mayors
  • 9,036 district councillors.

HOW MUCH WILL TABLE MEMBERS BE PAID FOR THE 2022 REGIONAL AND MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS?

The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) announced that for these 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections, each of the polling station members, who participate in the electoral day of October 2, will be paid, $120.
