The Colombian automotive sector closed October with more than 25,000 new vehicles registered, according to the most recent report by Fenalco and Andi, consolidating itself as the month with the highest number of sales so far this year. The figure reflects a significant market recovery, driven by promotions, stability in interest rates and greater consumer confidence.

The Renault and Kia brands continue to dominate the preferences of Colombians, followed closely by Chevrolet and Toyota, which maintain a solid participation in the truck and SUV segment. Among the best-selling models, the Renault Duster stands out, with 990 units sold, and the Mazda CX-30, which took second place with 935 units, confirming its position as one of the most desired compact SUVs in the country.

In third and fourth position were the Kia Picanto (912 units) and the Kia K3 (895 units), followed by the Foton BJ, which surprised by closing the month with 843 units sold, consolidating itself as one of the fastest growing Chinese brands in Colombia. Other notable models were the Chevrolet Onix (656), the Renault Logan (565) and the Toyota Land Cruiser (500), the latter driven by demand in the high-end segment.
The list also includes hybrid and electric vehicles, such as the BYD Yuan Up, which reached 468 units sold, reflecting the growing acceptance of sustainable mobility in the country. Models such as the Renault Kardian, Nissan Kicks, Mazda 2, Suzuki Swift and Toyota Hilux complete the middle part of the ranking, evidencing Colombians’ preference for efficient compacts and work trucks.
At the bottom of the top 20 there are references such as the Renault Arkana (369 units), the Kia Sonet (359), the Volkswagen Polo (346), the JAC HFC (333), the Renault Kwid (325) and the Renault Koleos (322). With this, Renault reaffirms its leadership with five models within the twenty best-selling models, an achievement that keeps the French brand at the top of the national market.

In the cumulative total of the year, the country already has more than 200,000 new vehicles registered, which represents important progress compared to 2023. This rebound confirms the reactivation of the automotive sector and projects an optimistic end to the year, with demand that continues to grow, especially in the segments of compact SUVs, city cars and clean energy vehicles.
