Santo Domingo.- The National Congress is working on the final details of the assembly of protocol acts to receive the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who on February 27, will report to the nation on the actions carried out in the year 2022 and will address a message to the country from the National Assembly Hall.
The arrival of the head of state is scheduled for 9:45 in the morning.
More than 600 people are invited to the solemn event, including 222 legislators, ambassadors accredited to the Dominican Government, ministers and other officials from State institutions, as well as representatives of international organizations and more than 80 media that will provide coverage.
The important activity will begin at 9:00 in the morning with the opening of the first ordinary legislature 2023, as well as the designation of protocol commissions to receive President Abinader, upon his arrival at the Palace of the National Congress, and deposit at the Altar of the homeland a floral offering.
The president and vice president, Raquel Peña, will be received by a Bicameral Commission on the esplanade of the National Congress, where they will pay the honors corresponding to his inauguration, as part of the commemoration of the 179th anniversary of National Independence.
At 10 in the morning, the legislative chambers will meet in the National Assembly to receive the message and the rendering of accounts of the president, and the memories of the ministries corresponding to the year 2022.
As part of the protocol for this important event, the president will be received at the door of the Assembly Hall by the president of the Senate, Eduardo Estrella, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco.
Estrella, president of the National Assembly, will begin the work of the joint meeting of the legislative chambers, followed by a speech, and then give way to Abinader’s message.
