The Fukuoka Water Sports World Cup (Japan) will no longer take place in May this year due to the new wave of Covid-19 cases. This was the reason given by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) for the change in the date of the event, transferred to the period from 14 to 30 July 2023. The World Cup covers swimming, open water, water polo, artistic swimming and diving.

Due to the new date change, the Doha World Cup, which would take place next year, was postponed to January 2024, the same year as the Paris Olympics.
This is the second time in a row that Fina has changed the schedule of the World Aquatics Championships. THE 2021 edition had already been rescheduled to May this year, due to the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics (Japan) due to the pandemic.
