More than 40 men and women who are part of the National Risk Management System (SNGR) have been fighting a forest fire since Thursday in the National Park Waraira Repano of Caracas.
The information was provided by the Vice Minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Alm. Juan Carlos Oti Paituvi, who stressed that by Thursday evening, Forest Firefighters had 70% of the fire under control, according to a press release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace.
In this regard, the Vice Minister explained that the incident occurred near the Terminal de Oriente, in the Topo Padrón sector of the aforementioned National Park. He added that the competent authorities are conducting investigations to determine the origin of the flames.
