The Embassy of Israel, the City of Knowledge Foundation and Cybertech Global Events inaugurated this May 18 the main conference of the fifth version of “Cybertech Latin America”, at the City of Knowledge Convention Center.
It corresponded to Amir Rapaport, founder and CEO of Cybertech Global Event, the Israeli ambassador, Itai Bardov and the executive president of the City of Knowledge Foundation, Professor Jorge Arosemena, to open the event in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Janaina Tewanay Mencomo; the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Federico Alfaro; the president of the Panama-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eli Faskha.
Ambassador Itai Bardov stressed that Israel is a center of innovation and one of the biggest players in the cybersecurity sector and through this conference he wants to share his knowledge and experience with the region, especially with Panama.
For her part, Chancellor Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, expressed that: “With our most important and strategic partners such as Israel we have a long tradition; the leadership that this country has shown in terms of technology is evident and we were able to see it on our last visit. That our country is the venue for this event fills us with pride and demonstrates our role in the world.
During the event, the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Federico Álfaro, announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the Ministry of Commerce and Industries and the company Innovation Basecamp Israel for the establishment of a technology park in Panama, where the transfer of knowledge is important. to young Panamanian entrepreneurs who can take advantage of the opportunity that Israel is offering. An agreement in this regard is currently in the process of formalizing.

In addition, government authorities and more than 24 national and international speakers from Israel, Germany, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, the United States, Spain, Mexico and Uruguay met, who addressed various topics of interest in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity in banking, fintech, the cloud, progress and recommendations of the next challenges facing the region in terms of cybersecurity and cyberintelligence.
The event was well attended by industry experts, technology professionals, academics, students, entrepreneurs, among other actors, who had the opportunity to exchange their experiences and knowledge and listen to presentations such as: “Critical guidance and regulation infrastructure ”, “From Industry 4.0 to Intelligent Systems: New Challenges”; “One to One: Challenges and Opportunities for Business in the Cybernetic and Connected Age”; “Building National Cyber Resilience: How Intelligence Agencies Can Lead the Way.” In addition, there were discussion panels on “Cloud Security”, “Fintech Security, Challenges and Opportunities”, “Cybernetic International Construction and Innovation”, among others.
Likewise, there was an exhibition room and a pavilion of important startups and Panamanian companies.
During the event, the final of the Techprendores contest was held, where the companies Compartir, Alix Lab, Amikoo, Tree for Bee and Findapro, previously pre-selected, presented their business ideas. Amikoo, an app that helps animal owners and caretakers, was the winner. through Artificial Intelligence.
