FIFA sanctioned five former members of the Venezuelan Football Federation. In addition, they were also disqualified from their positions due to their conduct during the performance of their duties in the regularization committee.
FIFA explained last night in a statement that disqualified the former president of the FVF and, later, president of the regularizing committee, Laura Gonzalez, to carry out any activity related to football for five yearsafter “convicting him of mismanagement of FVF and FIFA fundseven through a fictitious billing system”, so must also pay a fine of $410,363.
Likewise, the former member of the regularizing committee Carlos Terán was disqualified for a period of two years. and was fined 10,000 Swiss francs ($9,988), after being found guilty of “approving and accepting improper financial benefits in the form of additional monthly payments.”

Bernardo Guillamón, Luis Eduardo Fernández and Gilberto Velazo were also sanctioned with a one-year disqualification, for accept improper financial benefits in the form of additional monthly payments, although FIFA indicated that this measure is left in “suspense for a trial period of two years”.
Guillamón, Fernández and Velazo will also have to pay a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs each.
“The individual conditions of the decisions have been notified to the parties this Thursday, the date of entry into force of the corresponding sanctions, and in the next 60 days the notification of the full basis will be sent to them, in accordance with the Code of Ethics”, FIFA added.
In September 2020, the FVF established a regularization committee that sought to return this sports institution to normality, after accusations against it and problems with FIFA regulations.
The obligation to install this committee, according to a Federation statement at the time, occurred after the death of the current president, Jesús Berardinelli, and in the absence of the first vice president.
Berardinelli was arrested two weeks before his death, charged with embezzlement of public funds, document falsification and defamation against former national coach Rafael Dudamel.
