FIFA hopes host cities are ready for the 2026 World Cup

The FIFA “hopes that each of the sixteen host cities “are prepared” to host the matches of the World Cup 2026 which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, a spokesperson for the organization told AFP this Wednesday.

“Safety and security are undoubtedly the responsibility of governments, who decide what is in the interest of public safety,” the source added.

The statement comes after the American president, donald trumpsaid Tuesday that some 2026 World Cup matches scheduled in American cities could be relocated for security reasons.
