The Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP) mourned the officialization of 50% tariff collection on Brazilian products exported to the United States. The measure was signed on Wednesday (30) by the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
In a statement, FIESP regrets the imposition of the 50% tariff on a part of Brazilian exports to the US, “without economic reasons that justify it.”
“We believe that the continued dialogue between the authorities of both countries will lead to the elimination of surcharge and the use of numerous opportunities for the benefit of our populations,” says the statement issued by the main representative entity of the industries of São Paulo.
The text adds that Fiesp will work with the government for the adoption of effective measures to reduce the economic impacts of tariffs on Brazilian companies.
