The Federation and the Center of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp and Ciesp) mourned the death of the former president of the two entities, Carlos Eduardo Moreira Ferreira, who died, aged 83, in a hospital in the capital of São Paulo. He was also an advisor to the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), which also mourned his death. The cause of death was not disclosed.
“It is with deep regret that we receive the news of the death of Carlos Eduardo Moreira Ferreira, president emeritus of the Federation and Center of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp and Ciesp). Moreira Ferreira dedicated valuable years to the industry’s cause, starting in 1980, in relevant positions in the entities until he was elected president”, say Fiesp and Ciesp, in a note.
According to the entities, Moreira Ferreira served two terms as president of Fiesp and Ciesp (1992-1998) and launched Telecurso 2000, a distance education program run by Sesi-SP and Senai-SP, in partnership with Fundação Roberto Marinho and broadcast on TV. Aimed at basic training and vocational education, the program was national in scope.
CNI stated, in a statement, that Moreira Ferreira was a great leader in the productive sector and will always be remembered for his political skills and outstanding performance in favor of the development of the industry in São Paulo and Brazil.
