The high interest rate discouraged the search for credit, pointed out the Rumos da Indústria Paulista survey, which was released today (4) by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp).
According to the survey, 66.8% of the industries in São Paulo did not seek credit in 2022. Among the main reasons given for the company not seeking credit this year were the fact that it did not see the need at that moment (71%), followed by the high interest rate (18%). Among those who sought credit lines, most referred to working capital and prepayment of receivables.
For 71% of large companies and 50% of micro, small and medium-sized industries, the interest rate that has been applied in 2022 is much worse than the one applied last year.
The survey also pointed out that 61.8% of respondents do not see the possibility of seeking financial institutions this year to obtain credit, loans or financing.
The survey was carried out between May 16 and June 3 with 317 manufacturing industries in the state of São Paulo.
