With 14 votes in favor and 10 against, the Assembly of Antioquia approved the draft ordinance.
Once approved in the second debate in the departmental Assembly Ordinance Project No. 59, which establishes the special rate of security and citizen coexistence in Antioquia. The reactions in the department were immediate.

He added that from Medellín an investment of $1.3 billion will be made in the 4 years of his mandate to strengthen security and technology organizations. Added to this “From the Metropolitan Area we will invest $150 billion in security cameras in the 10 municipalities of the Area.” And he ended by ruling that Both companies and citizens “can’t stand more taxes.”
Governor Andrés Julián Rendón, for his part, once the decision was known in the Assembly, stated that Insecurity is the highest tax paid in society. And that he believes in security as a generator of tranquility and driving force of investment: “The best investment is security, I believe in it. I lived it in Rionegro and the entire country recognized it with the so-called wealth tax, it was one of the best years for merchants, for development because they invested in security, it gave results and citizens recognized it,” he concluded.
The governor of the Antioquians added that the doors of dialogue will be open and listen to those who have questions about this contribution.
