Industry confidence is on the rise again, after three months of decline

The Industry Confidence Index (ICI), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), dropped 1.7 points from January to February this year. According to FGV, the Current Situation Index (ISA), which measures the confidence of industrial entrepreneurs in the present, dropped 1.3 points to 98.5 points, the lowest value since August 2020 (97.8 points). The component that measures the current situation of the business was the one that contributed the most to the result.

The Expectations Index (IE), which measures confidence in the future, dropped 2.2 points to 94.9 points, the lowest level since July 2020 (90.5 points), driven mainly by the business trend component for the next few years. six months.

According to the foundation, the Installed Capacity Utilization Level dropped 0.8 percentage point, to 79.9%.
