The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) challenged the protection that an appeal court granted to Ramón Sosamontes Herreramoro, one of the men closest to Rosario Robles and former head of social communication at the Ministry of Social Development between 2012 and 2015.
The resolution orders that the connection to the process be annulled due to the probable responsibility for improper use of powers and powers related to the diversion of resources during the six-year term of Enrique Peña Nieto. The case will be analyzed by another court to determine whether to modify or revoke the sentence.
Last February, the second collegiate court of appeal ratified the order of connection to the process that a control judge in the North Prison of Mexico City issued against the former official in October 2023, but he appealed and magistrate Alberto Torres Villanueva unilaterally determined to grant him the protection of federal justice.
That time it was argued that the head of the second collegiate court did not found or motivate his ruling, but also did not express himself about the grievances expressed by the defense of the former public official.
