In the midst of the public order problems that are occurring in the Catatumbo region, in Norte de Santander, the Military Forces began to reinforce their intelligence and operational actions to counteract the terrorist actions of the ELN guerrilla and the confrontations that this illegal group maintains with the FARC dissidents.

The commander of the Military Forces, Admiral Francisco Cubides, He explained that more urban special forces troops have been sent to that region of the country to strengthen the security of some urban centers of the populations that are part of the Catatumbo region.

The officer noted that What the ELN has been doing is violating human rights and international humanitarian law, by breaking the principle of distinction through the selective murder of ex-combatants.
