Few goals on the second day of the Apertura de Fútbol

The soccer team from Artemisa crushed its similar team from Pinar del Río on the second day of the Opening Tournament of the 106th National Soccer League.

The Artemiseños, visiting the Nancy Uranga field, endorsed four goals against the champions of the last Apertura and kept the three points of the game.

The young Osniel Ramos opened the account for the visit at minute 14 and with that advantage they went to rest. On the way back, the festival of Artemiseño goals began with goals by Pedro Bravo at 56, Yordan Albízar at 74 and Orlando Calvo at 84.

Another match that ended with goals was Cienfuegos versus Habana at the Luis Pérez Lozano field, where the visitors from the capital beat the sailors with Yosvani Vinent’s penalty goals at 45 and the talented Rivaldo Roldán at 49.

Matanzas beat La Isla without breaking a sweat at the El Rodeo stadium in the special municipality. The party commissioner decreed the forfeit for the locals for not ensuring the security agreed upon in the congress. According to the regulations, the Matanzas were winners with three goals in favor.

The fourth clash of the western zone ended with a 1-0 victory for Mayabeque against Villa Clara at the Nelson Fernández stadium in San José de las Lajas. Alex Luis Sarmiento, with his goal at minute 40, gave the three points to his team against Expreso del Centro.

In the east of the country, Santiago de Cuba won for the second consecutive time, this time against Los Gallos de Sancti Spíritus at the La Formadora stadium in the central province.

Carlos Ibarra scored for the Red Devils 10 minutes from the end and managed the three points for the indomitable team who now lead the Group B table with six.

On the Amador Martín stadium, from Camagüey, the Toros defeated Granma in extremis with a goal by Kevin Martín in stoppage time to add three taking advantage of the locality.

The rest of the matches in that area, due to Holguín against Ciego de Ávila in Banes’ Augusto Turcios Lima field, and Guantánamo and Las Tunas in Reparto 13 Norte, ended in goalless draws.

The low scoring harvest of the day is striking. Only nine goals in eight games, a discreet figure that draws even more attention considering that half of them were achieved by the Artemisa team.

True, we should not count the match between La Isla and Matanzas, unfortunately decided without playing, but in the remaining six games only five goals were scored between the 12 teams involved.

The least showy result in football, the goalless draw, was present in two of the seven matches played, added to the fact that in the remaining five there was always a team with an immaculate goal. In this way, 10 of the 16 teams ended the date in white, with another three winning by the minimum.
