This Sunday the Contracorriente program broadcast audios that would show that there was a bribe involved in the tender awarded by AgroRuralwhich was directed until recently by Rogelio Huamaní Carbajal, in favor of the Brazilian company MF Fertilizadores for the purchase of 73,000 tons of urea.
According to one of the recordings, the company would have delivered more than US$ 55 million to obtain the tender. Of this amount, 15% (US$ 8.25 million) was part of the bribe for officials, which made it easier for MF Fertilizers to be chosen as a supplier on June 11.
It is worth mentioning that the US company Global Investments Group (GIG) offered to sell each ton of urea US$100 cheaper, according to a note from Willax.

“It has already been determined that it is 10 inside and 5 outside, that is, from the legs of the managers, from them, there is the legal advisor, there is the advisor to the minister and everything else. (…) As supposedly the minister does not paint at all here, so the 10 that belonged to the minister is not being touched, that is, 15 remains in our power “is heard in the audio.
Furthermore, it is mentioned that “The people on the committee have already been committed, the people who are the head of AgroRural, each one is going to take their own.”
In another audio, people are heard agreeing on the time they were going to submit the MF Fertilizers proposal and thus ensure the collection of the bribe. The recording indicates that after 11 p.m. on June 10, the system would be saturated so that no other offer would enter.
“We are going to handle information from inside, until 10:30 pm at night we will have time for us to enter and, after 10:30 pm or 11:00 pm, the system will be saturated and no one else going to enter”, is heard.
Daniel Moscoso Vargas, a member of the evaluation committee and a person with tax investigations for crimes against the public administration such as bribery, embezzlement, among others, was in charge of reviewing the proposals.
