The oral trial against Justo Ferreira and his daughter Patricia Ferreira, directors of the Imedic firm, involved in the sale of irregular medical supplies to the State, was again suspended. It was to take place on Monday morning.
Both are accused of criminal association, smuggling, collaboration or complicity of public officials or Customs brokers and production of non-authentic documents.
It is suspected that the firm Imedic SA profited up to five times more from the sale of hospital beds to the Ministry of Health with overcharged prices during the pandemic.
The defense challenged the Sentencing Court made up of the magistrates; Elsa García (president), Yolanda Morel and Juan Pablo Mendoza.
Patricia Ferreira has another open case with Nidia Godoy and Néstor Ramírez for production and use of non-authentic documents, marketing of unauthorized medicines and criminal association for the alleged unauthorized marketing of oncological uses.
