Ferrari officially presented its new single-seater on Thursday of Formula 1, baptized as F1-75 and with which the Italian brand hopes to be able to succeed as in the past and reach the top of the discipline to Mercedes and Red Bull.
The last race won by the Scuderia dates back to 2019 (Singapore Grand Prix) and as a constructor the team finished sixth in 2020 and third in 2021.
For 2022, the Ferrari drivers will be the same as in 2021, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (24 years old) and the Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr (27 years old). The novelty will be in the car, the F1-75, which will have a different profile to adapt to the new regulations, which come into force with the new season.
Ground effect is favored instead of aerodynamic support, with the aim of allowing F1 cars to overtake more easily in the race. The single-seaters for 2022 are similarly equipped with larger wheels.
“Ferrari is the only team that has participated in all the editions of the F1 world championship” since 1950, recalled John Elkann, president of Ferrari, during the presentation.
“Expectations are very high. since we are Ferrari and we are always expected to win, “said Charles Leclerc. “But we will not know it (the new car) until we are on the track,” he said.
The dominant color of the F1-75 it remains red and is adorned with parts in black.
