“Venezuela has achieved with its (Bolivarian Peace) Diplomacy, important advances and despite the policy of maximum pressure established by (Donald) Trump and continued by (Joe) Biden, today the country enjoys full recognition in the concert of nations and its government enjoys great legitimacy,” said Tuesday the internationalist fernando riveroin an exclusive interview with the program meeting pointwhich transmits Venezuelan Television (VTV).
When asked about the importance of the presence of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim RaisiDuring his first visit to Venezuela, with the signing of new strategic agreements between the two countries, Rivero recalled that it is a meeting of two governments of nations that are global energy powers, both are founders and members of the Organization of Exporting Countries of Oil (OPEC) and agree on many international positions in favor of the multipolar and multicentric world and against the destructive policies of the US imperial hegemon.
“Iran, at this moment, has the third oil reserves in the world and Venezuela, the first (…) Both advocate global energy balance and both have strategic allies (…) All this contributes to the validity of the new world”, summed up the internationalist, who warns that both are also victims of imperial, unilateral and criminal coercive measures.
In Latin America, Venezuela is the center of attacks, but thanks to the expansion of progressive and left-wing governments in the region, a kind of “greening of hope” has been experienced, which has great implications “because today the Revolution The Bolivarian Republic and President Maduro enjoy recognition and an integration system has been demonstrated in the region and other latitudes of the world,” Rivero asserted.
All this, in his opinion, reconsiders international relations and everything contributes to reconfiguring and revitalizing South American and Latin American schemes such as Unasur, Celac, Mercosur, which were deteriorated by right-wing governments already expelled in some nations.
He said that, globally, “we observe that the US has been losing hegemonic influence and must promote wars,” adding to the concerns that China is causing to the US imperial authorities.
When asked, then, why the US continues to try to demonize Venezuela, the specialist’s response was blunt: “Trump answered that exactly 2 days ago, the former US president spoke of the need to steal the reserves that Venezuela has in energy matters”.
He stressed that Trump’s confession demolishes all that narrative according to which the “sanctions” were directed at the national government and its officials and not at the Venezuelan people. “Nothing is further from reality!. Trump openly pointed out that there was and is a plan against Venezuela. The central objective from the geo-strategic point of view was to take possession of the hydrocarbon reserves and also of all the minerals and natural resources that Venezuela has today, and for this reason the systematic aggressions against the Venezuelan people, and the attempt by the military to of the United States of trying to dominate our country,” he stressed.
