Fernando Pereira: "The FA is resuming the path and they believe that this project confirms it"

The Frente Amplio leader said that they are “negatively surprised” that 90 changes are proposed in the social security reform project and the Executive does not “show up” to explain what they are and the costs they have.

He said that during the Frente Amplio governments the minimum retirements were multiplied by three. “Herrerismo has a selective memory, this part was forgotten. We believe in social protection as caring for people from birth to death,” he said.

“This shows what the two projects are: Herrerismo is only interested in closing the numbers and the Broad Front believes that the project has to have financial sustainability and social sustainability,” added Pereira, and expressed that “deep down they don’t vote for this project because they are doing all kinds of calculations,”

Meanwhile, the deputy of the MPP Sebastián Valdomir said that “what happened today is the chronicle of an announced death, they are having extremely serious internal problems.”
