Fernando Alonso achieves the best time in the free trials of the Bahrain GP

The Spanish driver Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin-Mercedes) signed the best time in the 3rd free practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prixfirst test of the Formula 1 World Championship, this Saturday at the Sakhir circuit (5,412 km).

The Asturian, two-time world champion, narrowly beat another double world champion and reigning champion, Max Verstappen (Red Bull), and the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), 3rd.

The day before, the 41-year-old pilot had already signed the best time at the end of the first day of rehearsals.

Behind, the seven-time British world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) he achieved the 4th fastest time, followed by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 5th.
