“Dear friend @EmmanuelMAcron, I have enormous affection for you and I wish you the best for the future. Except for Sunday. Argentina is my wonderful country, and it is Latin America! Let’s go the light blue and white!” Fernández wrote on Twitter this Thursday, in response to a message from Macron.
The French president, who was at the stadium on Wednesday when Les Bleus beat Morocco 2-0 and qualified for the final against Argentina, he had written to Fernández in response to a tweet from Brazil’s president-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva wishing them both luck.
Dear friend @EmmanuelMacronI have enormous affection for you and I wish you the best for the future.
Except for Sunday. Argentina is my wonderful country, and it is Latin America! Let’s go the blue and white! ?? https://t.co/P1mKKrINdP

In a message written in Portuguese, Macron thanked Lula and further said: “Dear @alferdez, one of us two will be luckier. On Sunday we will know which of the two. With all my friendship… Adelante les Bleus!”.

Although it is taken for granted that Macron will be in Qatar on Sunday, Fernández has not announced a trip that rather the Argentines could interpret as “mufa”, the word they use to refer to the bad luck that is caused.
“Football and politics don’t mix. We are not interested in mixing, the citizenry has to enjoy it. The president has a good relationship with Macron and they have previously exchanged chats, but no decision has been made” on a trip to the final, Argentine spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti said Thursday.
Like France, Argentina has won the World Cup twice: in 1978 and in 1986.
The entrance Fernández wishes Macron the best, except for the final on Sunday was first published on newspaper TODAY.
