President Alberto Fernández will attend this Thursday the 59th National Flower Festivalthe largest floriculture exhibition in Latin America, in the Buenos Aires city of Belén de Escobar, and will share a talk with students from the district about democracy, on the occasion of the screening of the film “Argentina, 1985”.
The activity will be at 6 pm and the president will be accompanied by the Secretary of Knowledge Economy, Ariel Sujarchuk, and the local mayor Carlos Ramil.
The National Flower Festival It will run until October 10 and presents recitals by top-level artists, talks and colloquiums on caring for the environment and sustainability.
This year the show has more than one hundred exhibitors and nurserymen from all over the country.
The property, which has already been visited by more than 150,000 people since its opening on September 30, covers 17 landscaped hectares and a covered area of 7,000 square meters.
After that activity, Fernández will go to the historic Seminari Theater, where the film that represents the country in the 2023 Oscar Award will be screened, in the Best International Film category.
As in all theaters in the country, the film “Argentina, 1985” is a box office success at the Cine Italia, located in the aforementioned theater.
After the screening of the feature film, the President will talk with secondary school students in the municipality about the importance of democratic values.
The Teatro Seminari Cine Italia Escobar, built in 1889, was the seat of the town’s first mutual entity and housed the first movie theaters in the district.
After years of abandonment and in danger of collapsing, the cultural space was restored, expanding its capacity to 450 people.
It is currently considered one of the best state halls in the province of Buenos Aires for its heritage value.
