President Alberto Fernandez criticized this Sunday “certain journalism” for “defaming” political leaders and assured that the dissemination of false news “deeply hurts democracy”, by showing solidarity and sharing a publication by the Spanish politician paul churches.
“The false news spread by certain journalists to defame, discourage or persecute political leaders, deeply hurt democracy“Fernández wrote on his Twitter account, regarding a publication by Iglesias, the former leader of the Spanish leftist group Podemos.
Iglesias denounced a journalist who presented information about an alleged payment made in his name by the president of Venezuela, Nicholas Maduroin 2016, worth $272,000, knowing it was fake.
Today it has been demonstrated how news against Pablo Iglesias is spread to revile Podemos. The same happens between us.

In this sense, the leader of Podemos marked in a television interview: “How can a journalist give information when he recognizes that it is a lie? Is that journalism?”
In this regard, Fernandez stated: “Today it has been shown how news against Pablo Iglesias is spread to revile Podemos. The same happens among us.”
